When I think about it, I have written for years. I started when I was a teen. I have always enjoyed writing, although I can’t say the same about reading. The reason behind that is because I have had vision problems since birth. I always had trouble with the words running together, blurring and such until my husband gave me a Kindle for my birthday one year and I discovered I could make the print bigger so that the lines and words didn’t all run together. For the first time I started reading and it got to the point that I loved to read and would take my kindle to bed of a night to read when it was quiet. I started with A Christmas Carol then to the Hunger Games. When I got to the end of them, I wondered what I would read next.

How did I get into writing and publishing my first book? Well, it was the same year Fifty Shades of Grey came out. I had heard many things about the series, and I couldn’t understand all the hype about it. One day I decided to download the first book to my Kindle and that is where it all started. I was glued to Christian Grey for weeks. Thank goodness the second book was out before I got the end of the first one or I would have gone nuts trying to figure out the story. I loved the romantic background. Christian Gray was a hot alpha male that I couldn’t get enough of and apparently women across the world.

It was #ELJames that got me into writing as an art. I love the series and it is my hopes to write one of the romance novels I am personally capable of. It takes a lot of time and effort to get one book out for the public. Eye of the Storm was my first book and sure I still need some work, but I am very proud of it and the story line. The book doesn’t only tell the story, but it also encourages those that are going through a violent situation of how to get help. Carter Blake still walks through my mind along with Isabella Cameron. Perhaps their story still hasn’t finished. Making a character 3 dimensional is what makes that story real. There must be the development of the character. The background along with their character brings them to life and makes you want to see how their situation plays out.

Thank you, E.L. James for #ChristianGrey. The man is a powerhouse.
