I don’t only write romance; I love to read them. On occasion I will do a book review, and this is one deserves a sparkling one. I wasn’t sure about this one. I have read other books by Scott and enjoyed them. This book when I started reading it kind of caught me off guard. The main characters I guess didn’t react as I thought they would. The lead female Jade Sinclair came into a lot of money quickly and it messed with her mind. She had been used to having little in her life. Her older siblings had raised her, and they lived hand to mouth. Her brothers and sister became instantly wealthy when her father left an inheritance, she didn’t only come into money, she also ended up with more siblings she hadn’t known. Jade is a wildlife conservationist. She has studied them for years and gone to school to protect the population of the endangered wildlife. This is her calling in life. Had it been me, I think I would have loved every minute, knowing after the struggle of growing up with so little I would have known what I wanted to do with all of that but not Jade. The thought of that amount of money frightened her. She has no idea of how to live the rich life. It takes Eli Stone to teach her the finer things of life. Eli was born into wealth and knows every way to live the good life. Eli is seen as an arrogant, egotistical male getting whatever he wants. He’s privileged and undeniably sexy.

Eli doesn’t only want to teach her how to live the good life he wants to find her in his bed. Things don’t turn out like he thought. She does however make it to his bed, he didn’t intend on falling in love with her. With the new emotions that he is experiencing is making him richer in other ways. He is growing rich in love with the lovely and lively Jade. He finds her hard to resist and angers him when she feels she is plain, and her twin is the more beautiful of them. Jade keeps telling herself that she will not be seduced by this man. As their relationship goes on, she finds that there is more than school and conservation. She has opened her heart to being crushed. All she can hope for is Eli will not be found to be true to the tabloid stories she has read. As much as Eli is a controller, she is independent. The two make for great chemistry.

This is and erotica novel, but it is far from an eye raising what just happened type of read. I like those types. It is a friends to lovers type of relationship that takes its time and gets to the heart of the story without rushing. She writes as these characters come to life as flesh and blood and you are either cheering or crying. I have read several of her books and have enjoyed them all. There is nothing better than a good read to take you away into another world and experience it from the writer’s point of view.

This is book one of this series.
