When I was thinking about what post I might do today, it came to me of the time when I was a child. Seeing as today, it is snowing and cold and of course were in the first weeks of January it fitted that I put myself and maybe take some others on a trip along with me through Nana’s garden.

Now you would have to know the woman that I called Nana to understand what it was like to go in her backyard see the beautiful garden she had displayed. Every summer that was her job not that she didn’t have a vegetable garden, but her flower garden was her pride and joy. There was always a mix of different colors and textures and features. She didn’t only have flowers she also had small trees and bushes whatever made the design in her garden fit well together. It was someplace that I will always remember and treasure for as long as I live.

It was always somewhere I thought I would have my wedding someday seeing as that my husband and I got married in December that of course didn’t happen. Now that Nana is gone and in heaven that will never happen in my lifetime but I can always think of what it would’ve been like to get married in her backyard against the backdrop of her beautiful flower garden.

The sense of the flowers that came from there was sweet in the sights were beautiful and calming with the backdrop of their pond behind it. There were summers that I went over and help Nana in her garden although she may not have thought it was so much help from a small child she never said a word. Nana was a patient, loving person, and she adopted me into her family as a grandchild from the beginning.

Nana’s garden could be found filled with reds, pinks, and greens the colors of summer they had an assortment of mops, begonias, and baby’s breath along with lavender. There was nothing better for the eye or the soul than a walk through Nana’s garden. And he didn’t stop there the colors of Nana were just as bright and brilliant as the flower she grew and was a joy to everyone that knew her and loved her. I’m thankful for the time that I got to spend with her, and I would do it all again just for a chance to walk through Nana’s garden.
