It was nothing for our family to gather around the television on Tuesday night to watch Happy Days and straight into Laverne and Shirley. Laverne and Shirley was a spin off of Happy Days and created and written by the same people. The light hearted Comedy wouldn't have been the same without the cast of Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams. The slap stick physical comedy was made better by the efforts of Penny Marshall. The milk and Pepsis loving personality was never reined in and Cindy Williams complemented the performance beautifully. The pair became synonomis with Tuesday Night.

Penny Marshall was born Carole Penny Marshall October 15,1943 in the Bronx, New York to Marjorie Irene Ward and Anthony "Tony" Masciarelli who later became Marshall. Her background is extensive but it was Laverne and Shirley that brought her into the spotlight. Tuesday nights would never be the same once the combination of Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley. The Character of Laverne DeFazio was larger than life and Penny Marshall was superb.

Penny will certainly be missed and not forgotten. Rest in peace Laverne DeFazio.

"

Shirley Feeney: Laverne, I'm telling you, flying is safer than driving! Nobody has ever crashed into a cloud! Laverne De Fazio: Yeah well nobody ever fell 40,000 feet from a DeSoto either."
