Writing the Good Stuff

Over the last several years I have been writing romance novels. I have to say they are my babies. They have taken a lot of time, imagination and dreaming. In that time I haven't given up the thought that I would be traditionally published. That's what I'm looking for folks. I am looking for the agent that will take me on if nothing else to assure me that this has all been worth the effort, that my work is good enough. I admire those writers that have made it and I read their work. I want to be able to say that I can stand bedside #ELJames, #LoriFoster and #HelenHardt. I have read their work and love their stories. Stories that are a dark romance but the hero always wins the girl or vice versa. I have in the past and have recently, submitted my work to #Harlequin and #ParkLiterary. I hope to hear from them soon, but if I don't it doesn't mean that I am going to stop trying. These are my top picks but not my only ones. Recently I have been contacted by another agency and I will be looking into them. I do want to protect myself as I have been burned in the past. No one can blame me for that.
Writing romance means laying yourself and your heart wide open. All the feeling, thoughts and day dreams go into what is made many authors successful. It isn't easy. It's like letting everyone read your diary. Every thought is brought out. Every feeling ,believe me, it will strip you. There is nothing harder than to write a love scene, especially the heartfelt tender ones. Anyone can write one that is graphic. It may not be the best but they can. Scenes and stories do not all depend on the sex scenes but it is part of the book and you need to take time with it and put yourself in the room with them if you want to take your readers on that journey.
I know it's been awhile since I posted, but I do have a purpose. I am working on the follow up to On Desert Sands. Letters from home is in it's fifth chapter and I hope that I will be able to finish it soon. When you work full time there isn't a lot of extra hours to work. I would love to write full time and be paid well enough to make a living from it. I would love to see the Life Storms Series come to life on the big screen, but there again , dreams.
